Five years after it was set up in Leipzig’s historic cotton mill, the start-up accelerator SpinLab continues its success story. Emerging from the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the accelerator supports start-ups from across Germany with workplaces, marketing training and assistance in the search for investment. The focuses of the Leipzig start-ups have turned out to be energy, healthcare and smart cities. Many start-up classes have already completed the development scheme. And some of the alumni continue to use the excellent infrastructure at the end of the support program and have moved into the SpinOffices set up for this purpose. Apart from the continuous selection, evaluation and promotion of startups, SpinLab has recently become involved in the Smart Infrastructure Ventures development fund specifically for the early start-up phase.
taskforce has been supporting SpinLab with help and advice since 2015, implementing, developing and making the founders’ business ideas viable in the long term. Together with other renowned corporate sponsors, including Porsche, Helios, DELL and KPMG, Germany’s leading society for professional interim and project management promotes “SpinLab“ financially and in terms of ideas. taskforce co-founder Lennart Koch comments as follows on the objectives of the society: “We have been committed to SpinLab for many years as we continue to regard the accelerator concept as excellent. We can also demonstrate our management expertise in connection with exciting digital business cases” In addition to annual funding of €30,000, taskforce is involved with the judging panel of the Business Plan competition, the International Investors Day and with mentoring for company management and development.
